This year, the school has started sending home weekly updates, which has been great.
The first week, Teacher Jessie reported that Moolah had been enjoying:
- Socializing with her friends - her social network has grown since joining extended day.
- Phonogram lessons (letter combinations: sh, th, ee, er, oo)
- New embroidery lessons
Socializing! Joining extended day has helped Moolah branch out socially, but she struggles to contain her silllyness. It is - of course - adorable but she has a hard time knowing when to stop. We have reviewed A - Z and are still working our way toward phonetic reading. Still about the sweetest thing ever!
I'm pretty sure that Oosje and Bampa never got a report from my teachers that I was excelling at socialization and having a hard time not being too silly, although Nanna & Papa probably did get those kind of notes for Daddy. I'm pleased that Moolah is developing some balance between social and academic skills and will give Daddy all the credit for that.

Moolah might really enjoy "Ook the Book" It's a silly story using phonetics that I learned about last year during my reading specialist job. Oosje might have it at her house, if I recall correctly.
did get a copy of Ook the Book. I'll go look in the toy box and see if it is there. Now I remember I got 2copies. Didn't I already send one to Moolah?
No, Bampa and I never got a "too much silliness and socializing" report for Mama. I hope Moolah is getting over some of her fears of "joining-in" and "leadership". These are such important lessons at her age.
We read Ook the Book at Oosje's house last time we were there with Lil, but we don't have a copy here.
