Sleep Strike

Ace has gone on strike. Since his returned from the Royal Castle, he has refused to sleep more than 2 1/2 hours at a time, and that "long" stretch is only available once a day. The rest of the day he will sleep for only 45 - 60 minutes.

Management has offered many things. Music that repeats all night. Increased temperature in the bedroom. Generous amounts of Tylenol. Pre-bed nursing. Pre-bed bottle. Pre-bed Carrot Food Substance.* All have been rejected. We have also instituted a "Sleeping Ribon" with instructions to Moolah, self-appointed Manager-In-Training, that she is not to enter Ace's room when the sleeping ribbon is on his door. This has been mostly successful to control Moolah, but has had little to no impact on Ace.

Last night Ace slept 5 blissful hours. Now it is up to management to figure out which of the many interventions was the key.

*Fine print: Carrot Food Substance contains a substantial amount of applesauce. Please do not tell Ace this. He can't read fine print yet. If he knew he was being fed fruit, he would definitely continue the strike. Also, how many parents have to hide applesauce in carrots?
