Moolah and Daddy watched Disney movies this weekend. This was the first time she actually sat through a whole movie. She sat on Daddy's lap because Disney movies are really a little bit scary.
They watched Beauty and the Beast. Moolah's summary: "There is a scary beast who is scary but he turns into a nice prince." The first time through, as the beast was transforming, Daddy said "See, he's turning into the prince." Moolah said "He's not a prince, Daddy. Prince's have crowns. He doesn't have a crown."
They watched Snow White. Moolah's summary: "There is a scary witch and she has an apple that makes Snow White sick but the prince comes and gives her a kiss to make it all better." During the first viewing, the witch comes in disguise with the poisoned apple and has to try several times to get Show White to take a bite. At some point the witch pretends to faint and the apple rolls onto the floor. Moolah says "But, we don't eat food off the floor. It's dirty." Yes, Moolah. In addition to being poisoned with the potion of the sleep of death, it is also dirty.

Disney movies are long and, yes, fairy tales are scary. They are our lifes lessons being taught to us. I don't think the originators of Fairy tales, thousands of years ago, thought about apples being dirty because they landed on the floor. That Moolah girl... always thinking! See Mama! Moolah does listen to you. I'm still for the 3 second rule, especially if it's a piece of chocolate that lands on the floor.
Last night Sleeping Beauty bought me time to clean the bathroom. I wandered out for supplies well into the movie.
"Mama, where is Sleeping Beauty."
"She's right there dancing with the animals."
"But, she's awake."
Moolah is so EXACT! Mama and Daddy are going to be doing lots and lots of educating here in a realm I don't even know how to enter.
